“I remember my ending sophmore year in high school. I was very depressed. And I would go running and come home to watch Kerli’s Ollesummer Festival vlogs. She would just talk of what she was doing, but it always gave me such hope and inspiration. I felt stuck and so trapped, but that gave me the desire to be something more and be creative. I re-watch them sometimes, and remember that pain and hope, and I thank her for helping me get out of that.”
“I’m really happy that Kerli’s not depressed anymore, but I think it’s still possible for her to make happier music that is still meaningful (i.e. Immortal). Much of her new stuff, like the songs on Utopia, are such simple techno melodies with unsubstantial lyrics repeated constantly. Songs like “The Lucky Ones”  literally have the same eight words over and over. I absolutely love her, but no matter how much meaning she says is behind some of her new songs, it’s getting hard to believe that she hasn’t just sold out into mainstream dance genre. I don’t want “the old Kerli” back, because she wasn’t happy then, but I do want the more alternative pop, substantial style of her music back.”
